Strengthened partnerships in various economic sectors

On the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival, the Chinese Ambassador to the Comoros, Guo Zhijun, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to consolidating bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese embassy in Moroni celebrated the Spring Festival in the presence of the Chinese community and Comorian partners. During the event, Guo Zhijun extended his best wishes to Chinese nationals living in the Comoros and their Comorian friends. He recalled that this celebration, recognized globally, is listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.

On his part, the President of the Comoros extended his wishes for a prosperous 2025 to his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, and the Chinese people. He highlighted the importance of the Sino-Comorian partnership, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. He also emphasized the commitments made during the Beijing summit, where Presidents Xi Jinping and Azali Assoumani expressed their desire to strengthen their cooperation through a strategic partnership.

We are celebrating both the 50th anniversary of Comoros’ independence and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries,” stated Guo Zhijun. He reaffirmed the two nations’ commitment to continuing their collaboration by relying on the six recommendations and ten modernization initiatives proposed by Xi Jinping.
