African Union Summit : Seychelles, represented by its Vice-President

Showcasing Seychelles’ Blue Economy

Vice-President Ahmed Afif represents President Wavel Ramkalawan of the Republic of Seychelles at the 37th ordinary session of the African Union Assembly on February 17th and 18th, 2024, hosted at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The statutory summit of the African Union is convened under the theme for 2024, « Educating an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Educational Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Quality, and Relevant Lifelong Learning in Africa. »

During the summit, Vice President Afif is tasked with presenting the report on Seychelles’ blue economy champion. Additionally, the Seychellois representative will actively participate in crucial parallel meetings, including the gathering of the African Committee of Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), alongside the president and executive secretary of the institution.
