Women Entrepreneurship Program: ten entrepreneurs rewarded

Funding and strategic support

The second edition of the Women Entrepreneurship Program (WEP) honored ten entrepreneurs by granting them funding to realize their projects.

Falanfati Youssouf Ali, originally from Mwali, won first place with an envelope of 5 million francs (10,606 USD). Second place went to Mouznati for its rehabilitation center, which received funding of 3 million francs. The third prize, worth 2 million francs, was awarded to the Abdourahilou project, led by an entrepreneur from Ndzuani. Also among the winners is Laikati Illimane, involved in the processing of local coffee.

Led by Exim Bank, the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (UCCIA) and Inovlab, the WEP aims to overcome the financial obstacles encountered by women entrepreneurs. Since its launch in 2023, the organization has established itself as a springboard towards economic empowerment. The second edition in July 2024 generated a strong response with 131 projects registered.

Beyond financing, the program offers strategic support. Jihane Guy, winner of the first edition and founder of Wutamu, a soap manufacturing company, testified to the impact of the WEP on her journey. Thanks to this support, she was able to modernize her equipment and expand her product range.

Djamil Boinali, Secretary General of the UCCIA, highlighted the positive impact of the program: « We are seeing an average 30% increase in revenue for the companies supported ».
