Toliara hosts the FOJAEB 2025
The blue economy is increasingly emerging as a lever for sustainable development in Africa.
In this spirit, the African Youth Forum on the Blue Economy (FOJAEB 2025) will be held from April 17 to 19, 2025, in Toliara, Madagascar. The event was officially announced at a press conference on March 25, 2025, in Apandrianomby, by the Pan-African Youth Organization for the Blue Economy (OPJEB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Fisheries and the Blue Economy and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
« This second edition aims to bring together 500 young African leaders, experts, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of this sector. The objective is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth employment in a rapidly growing sector », announced Mahatanté Paubert, Minister of Fisheries and the Blue Economy.
The program will include panels and conferences on the challenges and prospects of the blue economy for African youth. An exhibition will highlight innovative initiatives and projects led by young entrepreneurs. A hackathon will reward the best ideas. A mobile awareness campaign will inform local communities about the benefits of this sector.
