An opportunity for Comorian entrepreneurs
The Central Bank of the Comoros (BCC) and the Regional Union of Sanduk of Anjouan (URSA) marked a change in the Comorian economic landscape with the official launch of leasing, this Thursday, February 20.
This event, which brought together many political authorities and players in the financial sector, aims to facilitate access to financing for SMEs. Leasing is distinguished by its accessibility, requiring no guarantee. The Governor of the BCC, Younoussa Imani, welcomes this initiative by declaring: « In the end, the good goes to the customer. We hope that this product will be taken up by other banks ». This approach is seen as a lever to stimulate entrepreneurship, particularly for economic players with limited resources.
The Director General of URSA, Ali Ahamadi, underlines the institution’s commitment to economic development, which has lasted for 32 years. He specifies that leasing is part of a series of inclusive financial products intended to promote the growth of SMEs.
With twelve beneficiaries already registered, mainly in the fishing and welding sectors, leasing could well represent a valuable opportunity for Comorian entrepreneurs. This will pave the way for a dynamic of economic development and job creation on the archipelago.
