Ban on selling vanilla before official dates
The sale of green vanilla for the 2024 harvest season has begun in the coastal region of Analanjirofo.
Other areas will open on July 24 for the intermediate zone and July 27 for the high-altitude zone. It is strictly forbidden to sell vanilla before these dates unless the vanilla is early-maturing.
In such cases, harvesting and preparation require prior authorization from the fokontany chief. The commercialization of prepared vanilla is scheduled to begin three months after the start of the commercialization of green vanilla in each zone.
