Support for ginger producers

Ambatovy is actively involved in the development of the ginger sector in Moramanga. Since 2023, as part of its commitment to local farming communities, this mining company has launched an innovative program to boost ginger production in the Moramanga district.

The rural municipalities of Andasibe, Ambatovola, and Beforona have been specifically selected to benefit from this program. Through this initiative, 137 producers from about ten village associations have received substantial support, including 9,000 kg of ginger rhizomes, 5,000 banana suckers, and organic fertilizers. In addition to these supplies, training sessions are organized to enhance farmers’ skills in agricultural techniques.

This program aims to diversify the income sources of local farmers while promoting regional economic development. Ambatovy’s initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between the private sector and local communities to promote sustainability and prosperity in rural regions of Madagascar.
