Agricultural fair : Promoting research and innovation

Highlighting progress and studies in the sector

The 2024 Agricultural Fair is being held at the Higher School of Agricultural Sciences (ESSA) in Antananarivo from September 18 to 20.

This annual gathering will highlight the progress and studies that are shaping the agricultural sector in Madagascar. Experienced agronomists from ESSA, true innovators, will offer solutions to tackle climate challenges and improve agricultural yields.

This year’s fair will focus on showcasing agricultural research and innovations while providing a platform for exchange between industry partners. According to the organizers, this event allows researchers to highlight their work and demonstrate its relevance in the field. These initiatives are also supported by the private sector, which regularly employs ESSA students to conduct applied research.

ESSA trains around one hundred engineers each year, with nearly 80 % working on rural projects or as entrepreneurs. This edition of the Agricultural Fair will also strengthen industry ties through conferences and forums designed to encourage networking and the sharing of best practices. Exhibitors will have the chance to test their products and services with a knowledgeable audience, including professionals, students, and decision-makers. Thus, the 2024 Agricultural Fair promises to be an opportunity to showcase agricultural development while considering social, environmental, and economic aspects.
