AMIF and its partners mobilized for sustainable development
The residents of Antanetibe, Alakamisy, and the high school district now benefit from permanent access to drinking water thanks to a major project inaugurated on April 17, 2025.
Led by the Madagascar Île-de-France Friendship Association (AMIF), in partnership with the municipality of Anjozorobe, this project was welcomed by the presence of the Member of Parliament and the District Chief at the inauguration ceremony.
At the heart of this initiative: the construction of a 15 m³ reservoir and the establishment of a distribution network supplying existing standpipes and washhouses. From now on, hundreds of residents will no longer be vulnerable to water shortages during droughts.
“It is with immense joy and deep pride that we inaugurate this wonderful achievement for the commune of Anjozorobe today,” says Denis Briche, President of the association. The project also includes hygiene awareness campaigns, training for local technicians, and the creation of management committees to ensure sustainable infrastructure management.
Building on its 18 years of work in Madagascar, AMIF worked in collaboration with the local association Ny Havana and with financial support from the Syndicat de l’Orge in France. This project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to water (SDG 6) and health (SDG 3).
