Inauguration of 150 new homes in Cavani

SIM Delivers Two New Residences in Mamoudzou

The Société Immobilière de Mayotte (SIM) has inaugurated two new residences in Cavani, on Boulevard Marcel Henri.

The housing projects, named “Vili Vili Manga” and “Les Terrasses,” mark a step forward in the region’s housing policy. The project was carried out with the support of the CDC Habitat group and the Departmental Council.

At the inauguration, the Mayor of Mamoudzou, Amdbilwahedou Soumaila, the Managing Director of SIM, Ahmed Ali Mondroha, and several institutional representatives were present. A total of 150 housing units were delivered: 60 in the Vili Vili Manga residence, along with 10 commercial premises, and 95 in Les Terrasses.

These developments are part of a comprehensive program of 510 housing units combining social, intermediate, and open-plan housing. This program also includes 3,200 m² of commercial and office space, as well as a private school, with the aim of revitalizing the Cavani neighborhood while meeting the strong demand for housing.

The Mayor emphasized the importance of this project, particularly after cyclones Chido and Dikeledi, which highlighted the fragility of homes. “Many families lost their homes. The urgent need is to rebuild quickly and better,” he stated.

The company plans to build 1,200 new roofs. Some of the construction work, postponed due to bad weather, is expected to restart this year. The goal is to adapt future construction to the island’s climatic realities.

Some beneficiaries were present at the inauguration. Aouladi Madi, a future tenant, said: “I waited a year. Today, I’m relieved. I’m going to be able to live in good conditions.”

At the same time, the company is implementing initiatives to improve the daily lives of residents. Four building caretakers have been trained, and an online academic support service with Acadomia is available to 500 children. With these new buildings, Mayotte is taking a new step toward safer, more accessible, and more sustainable housing.
