A New Direction for the Malagasy Economy
The Economic Development Board of Madagascar (EDBM), in partnership with LDMD, officially launched the Madagascar Economic Yearbook 2024-2025 during a ceremony held at the Carlton Hotel.
This report is intended as a reference tool to guide investment decisions, while providing a comprehensive analysis of the national economic environment.
Combining macroeconomic data, monitoring of foreign direct investment (FDI), ongoing reforms, and national priorities, the Yearbook highlights the business opportunities and structural challenges facing the country. This tool is part of the dynamics of national ambitions in the face of global challenges.
Rindra Hasimbelo Rabarinirinarison, Minister of Economy and Finance, emphasized that this document is fully integrated into the implementation of the General State Policy. The Minister also praised the close collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as technical and financial partners, who share a common vision: to make Madagascar a key economic player in the Africa-Indian Ocean region.
Leading figures from the private sector, such as Isabelle Wabete (Rio Tinto/QMM), Dr. Gervais Atta (Atlantic Group), and Matthieu Seguin (STAR Madagascar), expressed their confidence in the economic outlook for the coming year.
The event brought together several members of the government, including the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Industrialization, Energy, Digital Development, and, of course, Economy and Finance. Accessible to the general public, the 2024-2025 Yearbook now constitutes a key tool for decision-makers and investors eager to support the economic transformation of Madagascar.
