Antsaha Laiterie boosts the dairy sector

The Vakinankaratra region celebrates on March 1, 2025, the official inauguration of Antsaha Laiterie. A new company specializing in milk processing, as well as the Lait Solidaire project intended to support dairy cow breeders.

With a processing capacity of 750 liters of milk per day, Antsaha Laiterie produces cheese and butter. The company collaborates with 60 local breeders, guaranteeing them a stable outlet and contributing to the development of livestock farming in the region.

In addition, the Lait Solidaire project supports breeders by providing them with training and technical advice to improve the quality and quantity of their production. This program aims to increase their income and strengthen the local dairy sector.

Present at the ceremony, the Regional Director of Agriculture and Livestock (DRAE) of Vakinankaratra reaffirmed the government’s commitment: « The dairy sector is essential for our local economy. This project strengthens production and supports breeders. We will continue to support these initiatives to ensure their success ». For the beneficiaries, these initiatives bring hope. « Thanks to this support, we can improve the quality of our milk and make a better living from our work. This is a great opportunity for us and our families », says Rado, a breeder in the region.
