The former Secretary General of the Ivorian Presidency, Abdourahmane Cissé, has been appointed Senior Advisor in the Sovereign Advisory business of the international financial advisory group Lazard. The announcement, made public on February 27, 2025, highlights the importance of his expertise for the development of Africa and emerging markets.
With nearly 20 years of experience in finance and public policy, Cissé joins Lazard to support governments in managing their financial challenges. The company expresses its satisfaction, emphasizing that this recruitment marks a strengthened commitment to emerging countries, particularly in Africa.
Prior to this appointment, he held several key ministerial positions in Côte d’Ivoire, including Minister of Budget and Public Enterprises (2013-2017), Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Renewable Energy (2018-2021), and Secretary General of the Presidency (2021-2023).
A graduate of the École Polytechnique and holder of a Master of Science in Petroleum Economics from the IFP School in Paris, the new Senior Advisor also worked at Goldman Sachs before joining the Ivorian administration.
