Renewable Energy and Climate Adaptation
On February 25, Head of State Wavel Ramkalawan received a high-level delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at State House.
Led by Catherine Pattillo, Deputy Director of the African Department, and Todd Schneider, Mission Chief for Seychelles, the meeting covered key themes such as policy reforms, technical assistance, and sustainable financing mechanisms.
The discussion is a continuation of a roundtable on climate finance. This forum explores financial solutions to help the country overcome growing environmental challenges. President Ramkalawan commends the constructive cooperation with the IMF, stressing the importance of strategic partnerships for sustainable economic development.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Ahmed Afif, Central Bank Governor Caroline Abel, IMF Resident Representative Aissatou Diallo, and IMF experts. This demonstrates the willingness of both parties to work together to ensure resilient growth in the face of global climate challenges in order to promote investments in renewable energy and climate adaptation.
