A key event for the revival of tourism in Madagascar
Madagascar has met tourism stakeholders in the spotlight with the first edition of the Tropic’Awards 2025. Scheduled for March 1 at the Canal Olympia, this ceremony aims to reward professionals who contribute to the country’s influence.
According to the Confederation of Tourism of Madagascar, Madagascar has returned to its pre-pandemic level of tourist arrivals in 2024. A collective success based on the commitment of hoteliers, tour operators, restaurateurs and guides. Tropic’Awards therefore recognizes their work and strengthens the professionalization of the sector.
The event benefits from the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts. The nominees must therefore have official authorizations issued by the ministry, guaranteeing a compliant administrative process. In addition to the awards ceremony, the day will be marked by two conferences: one on tourism professions and the other on the impact of digital technology. These discussions will allow students and professionals to deepen their knowledge and build relationships.
The sector has started a solid recovery after a crisis that led to a real drop in income and the technical unemployment of 80% of employees in the sector. Today, the country is diversifying its targets and opening up to new markets such as India, Rwanda and Morocco. Thus, Madagascar is also seeking to attract visitors throughout the year to reduce dependence on the seasons.
