Viviane Dewa, Madagascar’s Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, visits Ateliers Feel Good, a high-end craftsmanship company.
On February 7, 2025, Minister Viviane Dewa visited Ateliers Feel Good, a Malagasy company renowned for its high-end raffia and embroidery products. These creations, designed with innovation in mind, cater to the luxury, fashion, and interior design industries. The company employs over 1,200 artisans, the majority of whom are women, striving to combine tradition with sustainable economic development.
Furthermore, the company stands out for its continuous training approach, which helps artisans enhance their skills and achieve financial independence. This initiative directly integrates women into the heart of the local economy, aligning with the government’s inclusive growth objectives.
In this context, the ministry has signed a strategic partnership with the company to establish a Crafts Training Center for underprivileged women. This project aligns with Axis 7 of the government’s roadmap, emphasizing economic inclusion and sustainable development. Indeed, the handicrafts sector serves as a crucial driver of the country’s economic and social progress.
The Minister highlighted the importance of education, healthcare, and financial autonomy in achieving sustainable growth. Viviane Dewa stated, « Malagasy craftsmanship is a key sector for job creation and income generation. Therefore, it is essential for Madagascar’s development ».
Additionally, this partnership aims to position Madagascar on the global stage of luxury craftsmanship. By strengthening ties with major international brands, the country seeks to showcase its unique expertise. Faranah Goulamaly, CEO of Ateliers Feel Good, emphasized, « This sector is an industry of the future ».
