Mauritius – Australia: Strengthening Cooperation in ICT

Supporting Mauritius in Strengthening Its Cybersecurity System

During a courtesy visit to Ebène, Australian Ambassador Kate Chamley and the Minister of Information Technology, Communication, and Innovation, Dr. Avinash Ramtohul, primarily discussed technological innovation and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

Following the meeting, the ICT Minister highlighted the historical ties between the two nations and expressed his desire to further intensify bilateral relations. He emphasized that several areas of technological cooperation are being defined in collaboration with Ambassador Chamley. He noted that Mauritius could greatly benefit from Australia’s advancements in digitalization and cybersecurity, which are major priorities for the country.

For her part, Ambassador Chamley described the meeting as productive, emphasizing the shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the ICT sector. Highlighting Australia’s expertise in cybersecurity management and awareness, she reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to supporting Mauritius in strengthening its cybersecurity system.
