AXA Assurance Maroc has announced the appointment of Gilles Fromageot as the new CEO. Pending regulatory approvals, he will take office on February 24, 2025. The new CEO succeeds Meryem Chami, who is stepping down for personal reasons after successfully leading the company.
With over 25 years of experience in the insurance sector, Gilles Fromageot has worked in several key markets, including Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Senegal, and Gabon. Before this appointment, he served as Regional Director at AXA XL, overseeing expansion strategy in Europe and Asia. This international expertise is a valuable asset for strengthening AXA Assurance Maroc’s presence in Africa, particularly in West and Central Africa, regions with high growth potential.
This appointment continues the transformation initiated under the leadership of Meryem Chami in 2020. Her tenure was marked by the expansion and modernization of services, consolidating the group’s position against the competition.
With this new leadership, the organization aims to intensify its activities in Africa, particularly within AXA CIMA entities, and to continue its growth momentum on the continent.
