Bienvenu Paré officially took office as the head of the Société burkinabè des fibres textiles (SOFITEX) on January 14, 2025. His appointment, approved during the Council of Ministers on January 9, was formalized by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry during a ceremony at the SOFITEX Industrial Directorate in Bobo-Dioulasso.

He succeeds Bonossokoun Arsène Somda, who led the company for 10 months before retiring. Somda expressed satisfaction with the work accomplished in such a short time, highlighting the reforms initiated, particularly in financial governance. The impact of group purchases and new procurement procedures were emphasized as measures to strengthen transparency and management efficiency.

For his part, Bienvenu Paré is committed to leading SOFITEX with integrity, rigor, and adherence to the principles of good governance. He calls on every team member, at all levels, to apply these same standards in their respective roles. Confident in the company’s potential, he asserts that “SOFITEX will regain its former glory and solidify its position as a leader in cotton production in Africa and even globally.”

A specialist in financial services management, Bienvenu Paré is well acquainted with the structure. Before his appointment, he served as the central purchasing director from July 2023 to July 2024.
