Two nations strengthen their collaboration in various sectors
During the 2025 New Year celebration organized by the Chinese Embassy in Moroni, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Imam Abdillah, announced that an economic and technical cooperation agreement between China and the Union of Comoros would be signed early next year.
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Moroni celebrated the New Year 2025 while also commemorating fifty years of cooperation between China and the Comoros. The ceremony took place on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Chinese representation in Moroni, in the presence of several dignitaries and diplomats accredited to the Comoros. During this event, Ambassador Guo Zhijun highlighted the major events that marked the ties between Moroni and Beijing in 2024, while revealing expectations for 2025.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the year 2025 will be remarkable. It coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the Comoros’ independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Comoros. He emphasized that China was the first country to recognize the independence of the Comoros and establish diplomatic relations with this country. The Chinese representative stated that over the past fifty years, the two nations have strengthened their collaboration in various sectors and achieved significant successes.
