Strengthening Ancestral Ties Between the Two Countries
The Moroccan diplomatic representative expressed his willingness to strengthen the ancestral ties between the two countries and reiterated Morocco’s position on adhering to the territorial integrity of the Comoros, by international law.
The Head of State welcomed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Comoros, residing in Dar es Salaam, to the Beit-Salam Palace on Monday, December 23. In a press conference held before his meeting at Beit-Salam, Zakaria El Goumiri spoke. He mentioned a working mission in the Comoros, which is part of the process of strengthening relations between the two countries. “Morocco maintains excellent ties with the Comoros,” highlighted the ambassador, in the presence of Chargé d’Affaires Driss Alaoui.
Zakaria El Goumiri stated: “Morocco firmly maintains its position, in accordance with international law, regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Comoros.” President Azali expressed his appreciation for the quality of collaboration with Morocco, emphasizing support for the Emergent Comoros Plan. An in-depth collaboration that continues to benefit both nations.
The Ambassador stressed Morocco’s commitment to supporting the Comoros in achieving their development goals, notably the realization of the Emergent Comoros Plan (PCE). Zakaria El Goumiri mentioned the improvement of collaboration in several areas, including higher education, the economy, health, and culture.
