The new president of the Nouvelle Société Cotonnière du Togo (NSCT) has been appointed. He is Nana Nanfamé. Prior to his appointment, Nanfamé was a member of the NSCT board of directors and served as the general manager of NSCT from 2016 to 2020, during which the company was acquired by the Singaporean group Olam. This experience enables him to address the current challenges of the company while managing its evolution.
One of Nanfamé’s main responsibilities will be to address the declining yields affecting the Togolese cotton sector. The cotton production for the next season is estimated at 66,000 tonnes, a slight decrease from the 67,000 tonnes produced this year. This downward trend presents a significant challenge for the new president.
Under his leadership, Nana Nanfamé will focus on stabilizing production and promoting sustainable growth for NSCT. His expertise could play a crucial role in revitalizing the sector and maintaining its resilience amid declining performance.
