Expanding bilateral collaboration
Discussions between leaders focused on diversifying bilateral cooperation in line with the priorities and aspirations of both nations. Both countries expressed their commitment to strengthening friendly relations and advancing collaborative development initiatives.
President Azali Assoumani of the Comoros held a phone conversation with UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The discussion emphasized the need to accelerate agreed-upon projects and plans from prior in-person meetings, underscoring the distinctive strategic aspects of the Comoros-UAE relationship.
The leaders explored ways to enhance ties across various sectors, including economy, investment, and sustainable development, to foster prosperity and growth for their populations. For example, Abu Dhabi authorities are committed to completing a new solar power plant under construction in the Washili region, with a capacity of 15 megawatt-hours. This infrastructure will support energy stability and independence for the Comoros. The UAE also backs the expansion and modernization of Hahaya Airport.
