Madagascar Seeks New Economic Partnerships

Promoting economic development on the island

The Ministry of Industrialization and Trade (MIC) has been actively engaging in efforts to boost the country’s economic growth.

Notably, the ministry participated in key international economic discussions during the 14th consultation meeting between the European Union and the five members of the Afoa group (Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius, Seychelles, Zimbabwe), held in Brussels from September 30 to October 4. The aim was to deepen international relations.

In this context, Minister David Ralambofiringa held multiple meetings with various diplomats to strengthen collaborations with other nations. On the same day, he met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Madagascar, Park Ji Hyun, the newly appointed German Ambassador, Oliver Knoerich, and the French Ambassador, Arnaud Guillois, in a series of diplomatic exchanges last week.

During these discussions, the Minister emphasized Madagascar’s growing need to establish profitable economic ties on a global scale. He expressed his willingness to work with foreign nations to promote the economic development of the island.
