Promoting equal access to quality education for all
Scholarships will be awarded to deserving secondary school students from vulnerable families in the areas where the Ambatovy project operates.
Ambatovy has announced the expansion of its scholarship program, which was initially reserved for girls, now including a quota for boys. Although priority remains for young girls, 25 % of the scholarships will now be allocated to boys. This was confirmed yesterday when Lasmaydha Siregar, Ambatovy’s Director of Human Capital Development, and the Minister of National Education, Marie Michelle Sahondrarimalala, signed an amendment to the 2022 partnership agreement.
Since the inception of this program, 243 girls have been able to continue their studies thanks to the 600 scholarships provided by Ambatovy. The project is committed to promoting equal access to quality education for all. In 2023, Ambatovy has implemented eight educational initiatives, including scholarships, school canteens, the University Grants project, school supply distribution, adult literacy programs, school transport, and a virtual library. These programs support approximately 8,000 students, helping to bridge educational gaps in vulnerable communities.
