Strengthening Seychelles as a top global destination
On September 21 and 22, German airline Condor and Swiss airline Edelweiss Air resumed flights to Seychelles.
Tourism Seychelles has announced that these airlines, along with two others, have reconnected the island nation to key European markets. Russian airline Aeroflot will restart flights on October 2, offering two weekly services. Turkish Airlines is set to follow on October 28, with four flights per week.
The return of these airlines is a major boost for Seychelles’ tourism sector, giving travelers more flight options. According to Tourism Seychelles, this will also improve access to the islands from Europe and beyond, making Seychelles even more reachable for tourists worldwide.
Earlier this year, a new non-stop charter flight was announced between Seychelles and Chengdu, China. Set to launch in late 2024, this route will open doors to the vast Chinese travel market and further enhance Seychelles’ global connections.
Bernadette Willemin, Director General of Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, mentioned that ongoing talks with other airline partners are part of a broader plan to improve island access. With the increase in visitor numbers, the return of these international airlines and the launch of new routes show Seychelles’ resilience and determination to remain a leading global travel destination.
