Strengthening cooperation agreements
The national delegation, led by Malagasy Minister of Industrialization and Commerce David Ralambofiringa, attended the Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) in Bali from September 1st to 3rd.
The event, presided over by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, brought together several African leaders to discuss enhancing relations between Indonesia and the African continent. David Ralambofiringa reaffirmed Madagascar’s commitment to the forum’s initiatives, emphasizing the Malagasy government’s focus on human capital development, industrialization, and good governance.
Ralambofiringa also highlighted the numerous cooperation agreements already established between the two countries. Strategic areas of collaboration include culture, tourism, education, and energy. In his speech, he introduced new projects in infrastructure, energy, healthcare, food security, and technology transfer, with a particular focus on railway development.
The second edition of the Indonesia-Africa Forum proved fruitful, with Indonesian authorities announcing agreements totaling 3.5 billion USD with African countries.
