Allowing students to express themselves creatively
Awards were given to School Certificate (SC) and Higher School Certificate (HSC) students.
Candidates excelled in the Cambridge Arts and Design exams of 2023, held on August 29, marking the start of the annual art exhibition at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Moka. The Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) organized the 2024 art exhibition, showcasing 78 artworks, including 44 for the SC exams and 34 for the HSC exams. The exhibition highlights the various techniques and remarkable artistic talents of the students. It is open to the public from August 30 to September 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
According to the Minister of Education, the event is held annually to showcase the exceptional talent and achievements of students. The creations on display demonstrate a variety of techniques, including crafts, sculptures, paintings, and technological advancements.
Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun described the exhibition as a display of original perspectives and innovative approaches. She emphasized that the profound demonstration of the transformative power of art is beneficial for learners. The Minister expressed her gratitude to the students for their intellectual talents and their ability to express themselves creatively.
