Creating economic opportunities between the two countries

Al-Ali Humaid Mohamed Ali Ben Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and President of the UAE International Chamber of Commerce was welcomed at the premises of the Groupement des Entreprises de Madagascar (GEM).

The GEM stated that this meeting was an initial opportunity to establish « a solid and lasting bilateral relationship, encompassing strategic areas such as trade and renewable energy ». The importance of foreign direct investment was emphasized by GEM. Additionally, the association is interested in collaborations in vocational training to improve technical skills in Madagascar.

Both parties agreed on the importance of building a sustainable relationship. This initial meeting marks the beginning of a fruitful and enduring relationship between the private sectors of the two countries. According to a statement, the future collaboration between GEM and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce will be formalized by signing a potential Memorandum of Understanding. The membership applications of three new companies were approved during the meeting: Althea Group, Feel Good Group, and Maexi Trading.
