Deepening bilateral relations

Efforts to bolster bilateral relations between Mauritius and Bangladesh were highlighted during discussions held on Wednesday, July 3, in Port-Louis. Zokey Ahad, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Mauritius, made a courtesy visit to Maneesh Gobin, the Attorney General and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and International Trade.

In a statement, Zokey Ahad described his meeting with Maneesh Gobin as cordial and productive, focusing on various areas of cooperation between Mauritius and Bangladesh. The strategic significance of Mauritius as a gateway to Africa was underscored during the talks. Additionally, the High Commissioner proposed Bangladesh serve as a gateway to South and Southeast Asia. Discussions also covered topics such as education, employment, and challenges related to remittances. There was mutual interest expressed in enhancing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for regional connectivity and collaboration.
