Advancing SDGs Through Positive Contributions
Seychellois entrepreneurs are undergoing a training program to familiarize themselves with the impact criteria of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program aims to assist them in aligning their operations with the United Nations’ SDGs, thereby promoting sustainable development.
The official opening of a two-day training course at the Savoy Resort and Spa took place on Monday, led by Amit Achameesing and Yugen Pillay, specialists from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This training, in collaboration with the Seychelles Investment Board (SIB), aims to help Seychellois entrepreneurs align their operations with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
UNDP, in partnership with SIB, is supporting selected companies to enhance their capacity for sustainable operations and positive contributions to the SDGs. The training introduces voluntary SDG Impact Standards, which guide organizations in their sustainability efforts and prepare them for upcoming frameworks such as the SDO Impact Assurance Framework and the SDO Impact Label.
In 2023, UNDP launched the SDG Investor Map for Seychelles, which identifies investment opportunities and potential returns, emphasizing the private sector’s role in financing sustainable development initiatives.
