COMFWB Trade Fair : 500 women entrepreneurs from 21 countries expected

Strengthening economic exchanges between COMESA countries

The Southeast African region is gearing up for a major economic event in Madagascar. The fifth edition of the Women in Trade Fair (COMFWB – Trade Fair) will be held on June 28 and 29 at the Novotel Antananarivo, under the patronage of First Lady Mialy Rajoelina.

This event, organized by the COMFWB Chapter Madagascar in partnership with the Groupement des Femmes Employeuses de Madagascar (GFEM), will feature approximately 150 exhibitors from 21 COMESA countries. Over 500 women entrepreneurs from various regions of Madagascar and COMESA member countries are expected to attend, supported by numerous partners.

According to Fanja Razakaboana, President of the COMFWB Chapter Madagascar and GFEM, the fair will include additional events offering enriching exchanges on various topics such as agri-food, real estate, textiles, design, tourism, ICT, finance, and energy. The event aims to attract 3,000 visitors over the two days, fostering exchanges among entrepreneurs. Notably, Madagascar is the first Francophone country to host this event.

Each year, in a different COMESA member country, the COMFWB Trade Fair organizes B2B meetings, professional conferences, roundtables, and a closing gala. This Pan-African platform showcases women entrepreneurs’ initiatives and seeks to strengthen economic exchanges between COMESA countries.
