Improving human capital, industrialization and economic transition
The Regional Development Plan (PRD) for the Sava region has been unveiled. This project, developed with technical and financial support from USAID and the UNDP under the Rindra program, aims to improve governance in Madagascar.
On June 5, 2024, in Sambava, the document was officially handed over to the Governor of the region. The Sava action plan, aligned with the General State Policy, focuses on three main areas: improving human capital, advancing industrialization and economic transition, and promoting effective governance. Additionally, it emphasizes the development of territorial resources, aiming to leverage local assets such as flora, fauna, and vanilla for regional growth.
The region is also prioritizing stronger cooperation, aiming to enhance collaboration with various financial and technical partners for the plan’s effective implementation. The Rindra program supports twenty communes, three districts, the region, and the deconcentrated territorial services (STD). These partnerships will facilitate the Malagasy government’s decentralization policy, promoting better local governance.
