Madagascar : Rehabilitation works on Joffreville road

Boosting regional dynamics through infrastructure

President Andry Rajoelina visited Antsiranana, inaugurating several new infrastructures in the city.

The highlight of the visit occurred at Antanamitarana-Antsiranana II, where the president launched a significant renovation project. This initiative covers the stretch from the junction of National Road 6 in Antanamitarana to the entrance of Montagne d’Ambre National Park, encompassing the rural road 3DIA leading to the tourist area of Joffreville, which had previously been neglected.

The project involves constructing a 23 km asphalt road and a 3 km paved section, aiming to enhance access to this popular tourist site. The goals include restoring the road, improving sanitary infrastructure, ensuring continuous access, and creating jobs, particularly in agriculture and tourism. The works, already underway, are funded by the World Bank through the Integrated Growth Poles (PIC) project and executed by the company Sogea-Satom.

Northern Madagascar is undergoing significant development. With the Ramena road already completed, the focus now shifts to Joffreville. According to the president, this project aims to stimulate regional dynamics by promoting areas with strong development potential, especially in promising economic sectors.
